Greek 701 / Assignment 10 / 2007
I. (~2 pp.) Choose one or two chapters of the Melian Dialogue, and write a
guide to this example of Thucydidean Greek for a fellow student who has
not yet experienced Thucydides.
II. Translate the following into Attic Greek. Try to strike a Thucydidean
note. Feel free to re-arrange and embellish the English; you needn’t be
strictly literal.

- Those who understand reality share our view.
- You would do well to adopt it.
